How to set up an automation
DevSphere OS provides a set of built-in automations — such as follow-up reminders, nurture sequences, renewal reminders, and scheduled reports. You turn on and run the ones you need; you do not build workflows from scratch.
#When to use this
Use this when you want a built-in automation to handle repetitive follow-through in your operations.
#Step by step
1
Open Automation
Go to the automation area to see the built-in automations available.
2
Choose a built-in automation
Pick the one you need, such as follow-up reminders or a nurture sequence.
3
Provide what it needs
Supply any details it uses — for example, the emails in a sequence or a report schedule.
4
Run it or let it run
An admin or CEO can run it now, or let it run on its schedule. Anything important routes for approval first.
#Expected result
What you should see
The built-in automation is configured and running, either on demand or on its schedule.
#Common mistakes
- Expecting a drag-and-drop builder — the automations are predefined, not custom-built.
- Not reviewing the first run's results in the logs.
#Troubleshooting
| If this happens | Try this |
|---|---|
| The automation did not do what I expected | Review the details you provided and check the automation logs. |
#Best practices
- Confirm the first run in the logs.
- Keep an approval step on anything customer-facing.
